Dr. Jennifer Walden Is a True Doer Who Doesn’t Make Excuses

Who is Dr. Jennifer Walden?

Besides being a successful plastic surgeon with her own practice Dr. Jennifer Walden is the pride of her home town. Not to mention, an inspiration to independent businesswomen everywhere. Walden’s road to success is one paved by hard work, determination, commitment, dedication, and faith in one’s self. Every accolade Walden has received she’s earned. Nothing was given to her as a hand out. Something that fills her with pride and confidence.

Walden’s journey to becoming one of the leading individuals in her profession began in her birthplace of Austin, Texas as the daughter of two parents in medical fields. Walden’s father was a dentist and her mother a surgical nurse. Her parents always stressed to her the importance of education while she was growing up.

After graduating high school she enrolled in the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. Upon graduating from the university Walden got into medical school and was put on a waiting list for the program as a bit of an afterthought. Walden took offense to being pushed aside and worked hard to prove that she belonged, graduating Salutatorian of her class. It was during this time that she settled in to the idea of becoming a plastic surgeon.

She then became a fellow at the well respected Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital through the hospital’s post-residency aesthetic surgery fellowship program, after being accepted into the plastic surgery program at UT Galveston. Becoming a fellow at the hospital was a big accomplishment in itself, considering it only accepts two fellows a year.

Walden established her first practice while in Manhattan. With help from her mentor, Sherrell Aston, she built her practice into a prosperous business for close to a decade.

Walden decided to move back to her hometown of Austin when she had her twin sons. Being a family oriented person, she wanted her boys to grow up around a loving family environment like she did in her early life.

She started up a whole new practice in Austin without looking back. Her hard work earned her a spot on Harper’s Bazaar magazine’s list of the 24 best beauty surgeons in the U.S.

Livio Bisterzo Turns Chickpeas Into Snacks

hippeas van livio bisterzo

It’s hard to find snacks that are actually healthy, and even harder to find healthy snacks that can fit into a restricted diet. Livio Bisterzo of Green Park Holdings recognized that problem and created a solution with Hippeas.

Hippeas is a snack food made from puffed chickpeas. They are kosher, gluten-free, vegan, and organic, so almost anyone can eat them without worrying about breaking a dietary restriction. They are also healthier than most other snacks, with relatively high protein and fiber combined with low calories in every serving. Chickpeas are also good for the environment, since they are a nitrogen-fixing plant that can help to restore the soil. That combination of health, sustainability, and accessibility has been more than enough to make them successful. Bisterzo has built a successful business on the strength of Hippeas, which can even be found in places like Starbucks instead of just selling in health food stores.

Part of the snack’s appeal comes from its mixture of health and flavor. Health food has a reputation for being strange and disgusting, but Hippeas does not have that problem. Puffed foods are common snacks, so people don’t have to go too far outside their comfort zones the first time they try it. It also comes in a variety of flavors that people can recognize, so they have an easy time picking their first taste of Hippeas. Those factors make it easy for Hippeas to overcome to the stigma that can come with healthy food and get people to try it, which is often all that it takes to get people started with healthy snacking.

It’s no surprise that Livia Bisterzo could develop such a successful product. His life experiences and education have certainly prepared him for success. He was born in Italy, but moved to UK when he was 18 to study in London. He went on to get experience working in marketing before he started his first business in 2003. He spent the next seven years building up a portfolio of lifestyle, consumer, and hospitality ventures. He left them behind in 2010, but went on to acquire the Danish beverage company called Little Miracles in 2011. That was his first venture into health and nutrition, which eventually led to the start of Green Park Holdings in 2015. Bisterzo and his family moved to Los Angeles a year later, and followed the move by launching Hippeas, which has since grown into a major success.

Workville NYC: A Great Place For Startups To Find Manhattan Offices For Rent

In the future of the workplace, traveling to the office may not entirely disappear, but where that office is could change. In fact, it already is with a new trend called coworking spaces. Coworking spaces are another option for the self-employed besides simply working from home. Yes, working from home has its benefits for those who want their workplace quiet, and are motivated to work hard while in their pajamas, or while reclining on their couch. But for those who want to be a part of a larger social circle, or perhaps just want the chance to work alongside other freelancers, coworking spaces provide that atmosphere for them.

Coworking spaces are for both the self-employed, and employees who work remotely, or who have been assigned temporary office space. Usually you can rent a whole office room, or share an open room where you can use a table or sofa to work from, and usually the rental price will be lower than leasing out corporate offices in a downtown high rise. In fact, most coworking spaces do not even come with a lease or rental contract. You just simply rent for the months that you need, and you don’t have to renew if you don’t wish to.

Most coworking spaces could also be compared to working at a large coffee shop or café. In fact, some even have coffee shops included as part of their floor plan. Usually you’ll find conference rooms, mail service, high-grade Wi-Fi, snack bars or kitchens, printers, and even sometimes spas and exercise rooms at a coworking facility. The chances are that a coworking space will provide you all the amenities you’re looking for while at the same time offering you 24/7 access if its part of your signup plan.

Workville NYC is a space of shared office that’s great for startups or freelancers who live in New York City. If you ride the metro, you’ll find it easily accessible from either Times Square or Bryant Park, and you’re not far from Wall Street. WorkvilleNYC has all the amenities that a luxury coworking space can offer such as coffee makers, fully-furnished office rentals, printers, open lounges, conference rooms, and balconies. You can also reserve rooms for special seminars, private meetings, throwing fundraiser parties, or hosting other company events. WorkvilleNYC also offers tours for those who are considering renting from them, and can be contacted by going to www.workvilleNYC.com.

Don Ressler is a Proven Businessman and Fashion Whiz at JustFab

Don Ressler is a very savvy businessman and entrepreneur. He began his career as a career counselor for companies and individuals who wanted to take advantage of the power of the Internet. He found employment opportunities with Intermix Media. His task at Intermix was to spearhead core ventures that brought greater value to shareholders. Ressler co-founded several companies in the fitness and health and beauty industry that are very successful e-commerce brands.

While at Intermix Media Don Ressler became friends with Adam Goldenberg and when Intermix Media was acquired by another company they decided to team up and start their own company. In March 2010 JustFabulous was born. The name was shortened to JustFab and the company was designed to address a potential blockbuster opportunity. Both men saw online retail opportunities as limitless and put together a business model that included a subscription service, social media and fashion.

Members of JustFab filled out a fashion preference survey and each month a personal stylist would choose several fashion items such as handbags, shoes and accessories according to the member’s preferences for that member at http://perezhilton.com/tag/don_ressler/#.V4Ah_46RKGg. JustFab charged a flat fee for the service and membership grew quickly. To keep up with the growth JustFab partnered with several capital venture firms to supply the necessary funds to grow within the United States and eventually expand to the United Kingdom, Germany and Canada.

The growth and expansion can be attributed to Don Ressler and his partner Goldenberg and their business expertise, as well as their ability to identify trends. They were well acquainted with the market place and knew how to adapt a business to the strength of the economy. To help grow their company, they added ShoeDazzle, FabKids and Fabletics to their portfolio of holdings.

Fabletics caters to athletic wear and was founded by Ressler, Goldenberg and actress Kate Hudson in 2013 and by 2015 Fabletics was JustFab’s fastest growing label. As a result, Fabletics opened six brick and mortar stores and plans to open another 100 stores within five years.

The philosophy behind JustFab was to allow all women to wear the same fashion forward designs and not just women of means. Ressler and Goldenberg wanted all women to have access to a trendy wardrobe at an affordable cost. The two men are the first to admit they do not know much about fashion, but they know business and how to grab the lion’s share of the market.
